Temperature Tolerances is how the character deals with their surroundings' (or room's) Temperature.
See: Guide to Temperature Tolerances

Temperatures[]
Buffs to the temperature tolerances are shown as absolute changes in numbers.
Increasing the Highest temperature values and decreasing the Lowest temperature values are positive buffs (increases heat/cold tolerance respectively), while the opposites are negative debuffs (decreases heat/cold tolerance respectively).
- Lowest Ideal Temperature
- Highest Ideal Temperature
- Lowest Temperature Tolerance
- Highest Temperature Tolerance

"Ideal" temperatures affect Mood. When the temperature is within this range, a positive moodlet is gained, otherwise increasingly strong negative moodlets are gained.
"Tolerance" temperatures affect health damage. When the temperature exceeds this range for a period of time, the Disciple will receive Heatstroke injuries (too hot) or Frostbite injuries (too cold). Receiving 1 or 2 injuries reduces the statistics of the Disciple, receiving 3 injuries causes the disciple to pass out, and receiving 4 injuries results in Death.
Usually, the latter has a larger range than the former, but not all the time. As one can see from the Silly Rabbit screenshot above, it is possible to be happy with a deadly temperature.
Clothing[]
Clothing only says that it modifies
- "ideal temperature cap" and
- "ideal temperature minimum"
But it modifies all 4 temperature tolerances.
For example, a bear hide winter coat will be nice and warm in winter, as it lowers the Lowest Ideal Temperature and Lowest Temperature Tolerance. However, it will also be hot and stuffy in summer, since it lowers Highest Ideal Temperature and Highest Temperature Tolerance.
For detailed recommendations, see the Temperature Tolerances Guide.
For mid to end game, Torch Dragon Orange Prayer Coin clothing provides the best tolerances (+250 Heat, +100 Cold Tolerance per item)
Injuries[]
There are two types of Injuries that can be caused by being exposed to temperatures beyond tolerances. They are Heatstroke (for high temperature) and Frostbite (for low temperature).
Every second that a Character is outside their Temperature Tolerance ranges, the following occurs[1]:
- Increments the tolerance counter by the number of degrees Celsius outside of the tolerance. For example, a Character with a Heat Tolerance of 40°C exposed to a temperature of 60°C will have 20 points added to the tolerance counter per second.
- Increments the tolerance timer by 1 per second.
- When the tolerance timer >= 25+10000/(50+counter²), the Character receives one stack of Heatstroke or Frostbite injury.
- In order to receive an Injury, the Character will have to be out of tolerance for at least 25 seconds, regardless of actual heat or cold levels.
- After receiving an Injury, or if the Character returns to within the tolerance range for even 1 second, both counters are completely reset.
After either Injury is received, they both naturally heal slowly over time. If 4 or more stacks of either Injury is received, the Character dies.
