Potential (or POT) is an Attribute with various* effects on Cultivation.
Effects[]
Potential increases the rate of filling the Inner Cauldron, as well as Anima Conversion[1], its counterpart after reaching Golden Core. It is further separated into two parts, Innate Potential and Postnatal Potential. Innate Potential alone increases the size of the Inner Cauldron[2].
Total[]
"Total" Potential affects the speed at which an Inner Cauldron is filled up. It acts as a multiplier for the amount of Inner Cauldron gain per Stamina point consumed. At 10 potential, each 2 points of Stamina consumed results in 1 Inner Cauldron point[1].
Total = Innate Potential + Postnatal Potential
Innate Potential[]
Innate Potential is the combination of a character's Age and Five Attributes[3], with temporary or circumstancial bonuses like Heavensent Talisman and
Forming Pill being applied. It is "locked in" after becoming an Inner Disciple.
Formula[]
Innate Potential = 60 / Age + (PER+CON+CHA+INT+LUK) / 10
- As all values are floating point numbers, there is no rounding. For example, at Age 14 with max attributes (10/10/10/10/10):
Innate Potential = 60/14+(10+10+10+10+10)/10 = 60/14+50/10 = 4.2857+5 = 9.2857
Inner Cauldron[]
Potential affects the filling speed, as well as the size of the Inner Cauldron.
Maximum size of Inner Cauldron = Innate Potential * 500 + 500 (from "Landscape Evolution" from Law of Nimbus Conquest) Min/Max of stat: 0.714 - 9.286 (Inner Cauldron size: 357 - 5143 Max Qi)
Postnatal Potential[]
Postnatal Potential is affected by various sources. They do not affect the Inner Cauldron size, and serve only to improve the rate at which Inner Cauldron or Anima Conversion is filled.
