Pain is one of the six Functions of a Character. It measures how much pain the Character is in after suffering from Injuries.
Receiving Pain[]
Pain is received from Injuries[1][2][3]. Not all Injuries cause Pain, but most do.
Effects of Pain[]
Pain indirectly affects all five other Functions, as it directly affects Willpower. If Pain >0.2, Willpower is reduced by (Pain-0.2)[4]. Having reduced Willpower affects other functions, which will result in a decrease in the Character's Skill Level and Properties affected by that Function and therefore their ability to perform tasks would be impaired.[5]. If Willpower is too low, the Character will become unconscious.
Reducing Pain[]
Pain can be reduced through increasing Pain Tolerance. This Property is applicable for all Characters. Alternatively, healing the Injury causing Pain also reduces Pain.
