Moodlet is a "box" in the Mood & Social window. It affects Mood (everyone) and Distress (Shendao only). Possibly referred to as "Emotions" by the game.

Removing Moodlets[]

It is possible to remove any "Temporary" Moodlets (those with a countdown) with the Wise Detachment (Miracle) from the Emotion Severing Law.

Bug: Wise Detachment says that it only works on beings with no cultivation experience, but it works on everything.

Bedroom[]

The bedroom moodlets is linked to the room in which the NPC-owned bed is[10][11], so it requires both the NPC to have a bed and that bed to be in a wall-enclosed room. In case the NPC doesn't have a room, they'll receive the following moodlet:

  • -30 Room Needed ("I need a room!")
Bed Sharing[]

Whenever two NPCs share a Double Bed and use the bed together , they'll both get a moodlet when the second enters the bed depending on their relationship[12] :

Moreover, the last one to enter the bed will have a disturbed Sleep if they're strangers.

Bedroom sharing[]

In case the NPC is a cultivator, they can always share their room with their Spouse or Lover. If they share a room with an outer disciple that's neither[13], they'll get the following Moodlet :

  • -25 Living With Outer Disciples ("The outer disciples are proving more of a distraction than anything else... I hope to move out of this living situation soon.")

If they share a room with another cultivator, but they don't know them or their relationship with that cultivator is strictly less than 75, they'll get the following Moodlet

  • -25 (Max -37.4, Stacks 5), Awkward Cohabitation ("[TXT] and I really aren't even able to be conducting practice in the same room."),
Bedroom Auspiciousness[]

The value[14] will depend on whether the npc is a cultivator or a worker[15]. It is based on the Room Feng Shui.

Bedroom Impression[]

An Impression factor[16] is calculated from , where RoomAttractiveness is its Attractiveness value, limited to 8, and RoomBeauty is its Quality, limited to 8 as well. The Attractiveness can be directly seen in-game with the MoreGridInfo Mod. The moodlet[6] will be set depending on the result.

Sleep[]

Every second a character sleeps, they can get disturbed if the environment around them becomes unsuitable. If they're not in a coma and they sleep up to being fully rested without being disturbed they receive the following moodlet:

  • +15 Well Rested "I feel full of energy after sleeping."

They also can get dreams anywhere between 30% and 99% of the planned duration of their sleep[20]. The chance for dreams is only checked once, but you can both have a nightmare and a nice dream.

The chance to get a nice dream starts at 4% and is very slightly affected by the bedroom auspiciousness (up to +0.2%)[21] and more from -10% to +20% from Sect Feng Shui[22] (with the values reversed for Nightmare chance). Nightmare has 4% base chance, with the Troubled Background adding 120%, and it counts as disturbed sleep. They give the following Moodlets:

  • +8 (Max +24, Stacks 3) A Great Dream, "What a great dream..."
  • -8 (Max -24, Stacks 3) A Nightmare, "I didn't sleep well due to that nightmare."

The sleep can count as disturbed in a number of ways, and they add their own negatives moodlets too. There's a specific "Interrupted Sleep" stacking Moodlet. You can get stack for it if the player interrupts their sleep (by cancelling the action), if they have a nightmare, if the bed they sleep in is destroyed, or if they have to share a bed with someone that's not their spouse or their lover. This is on top of the moodlets these events can give:

  • -8 (Max -33, Stacks 6) Interrupted Sleep "I kept being woken up because it always seemed like there was something moving around nearby."

There are other ways to disturb the sleep that don't add to the "Interrupted Sleep" stacks but still prevent nice dreams and have their own Moodlet :

Finally, when they stop sleeping they can get the two following moodlets, relative to whether they slept on the ground or not in a room:

  • -15 Slept on the ground "I slept the whole night on the cold, hard ground. My body is aching all over."
  • -15 Sleeping out in the Wilderness "I couldn't sleep well because I felt like something was stalking me all night long."
