A Law (Chinese: 功法) is a unique Cultivation method that your characters can take. An Outer Disciple can be Promoted to Inner Disciple by choosing one after completing Foundation training.

Summary[]

Cultivation laws are different paths to achieve immortality through martial and mystical arts.

  • Differences
  • A chosen Law is permanent and cannot be changed, with the exception of the Rebirth mechanic.
  • At the start of a new game, the player has the option to pick a specific Law to start with. Without doing so, one of the five Taiyi Laws is given at random.

Supreme Laws[]

Supreme Laws are the only recommended ones for a player Cultivator due to their effectiveness and unique benefits. Xiandao Supreme Laws are also sometimes referred to as Orthodox Laws, in contrast to Unorthodox Laws.

Taiyi Laws[]

Taiyi Laws are the Five Supreme Xiandao laws of the once great Taiyi Sect, of which you are but a remnant. They include:

Non-Taiyi Laws[]

These are Xiandao Laws from other Sects and Domains, that exhibit the true essence of nature.

Shendao Laws[]

Shendao Laws utilize Divinity and Faith to turn its practitioners into Deities. All Shendao laws are of the None Element.

Physical Laws[]

Physical Laws utilize Remolding of Body Parts to strengthen its practitioners. All Physical Laws are of the None Element.

Unorthodox Laws[]

Unorthodox Laws are Xiandao Laws randomly generated by the game. There are no Shendao or Physical Unorthodox Laws. Unorthodox Laws provide mostly Unorthodox Manuals.

Other Laws[]

Special quirks mean that these need to have their own Laws. These Laws cannot be learned by playable Characters.

  • Law of Instinct (gong_yaoshou), practiced by Monsters
  • Spirit Pet Practice (gong_lingshou), practiced by your Pets
  • Unknown Law (gong_daneng), practiced by Ancient Cultivators
  • Lost (gong_lost). Law file deleted, or Mod removed.

Choosing a Law[]

Anyone can become anything in this game, but it is beneficial to recruit people with high Attributes and then give them Laws that match.

Body Laws[]

Body Cultivators don't require anything Attribute wise, but benefit from high Ability Ratings in Battle, Qi Sense, and Artisanry, and to some degree, Crafting and Medicine.

It is highly recommended to avoid choosing body cultivation if the cultivator has the "Clumsy" trait, as this will permanently lock them out of Comprehension, and Inner Sight.

Shendao Laws[]

Shendao is something that anyone can aspire to. The one big requirement to progress past a certain Mental State Breakthrough is to be able to achieve 8 Intelligence for it. However Intelligence also prolongs some Breakthroughs, so it takes balance.

Since Shendao is focused on garnering Followers, high Charisma and Social (Skill) are beneficial, as well as high Luck to find Guards.

Xiandao Law Matching[]

Xiandao Laws are ideally practiced by Characters with good Five Attributes "Law Match" with their Law, as well as having a high Qi Sense Level, and CON/INT/PER for increased Max Qi. Luck is useful for forming a Golden Core of higher quality. If not required by the Law, Charisma is only useful for maxing out Potential. Not having sufficiently of any Attribute is much more damaging to the Law Match Percentage than having additional Attribute points beyond the necessary is beneficial, but being overqualified for a Law gives great benefits during the formation of the Golden Core.

Obtaining Additional Laws[]

Taiyi Laws Obtainment[]

On Day 21, you will unlock the Return to Taiyi Secret, which requires you to adventure to Mt. FullMoon. Once you go there, you will get the remaining Taiyi Laws.

Primordial Symbols Law Obtainment[]

Unless He Zudao is Withdrawn or Greedy, you'll need a disciple with 14 or more Social Skill Level (not Attribute Rating). If you have an outer fitting the requirement, you can invite He Zudao to your sect to break her guard instead of doing it on her Sect grounds.

  1. Buy Territory Access from Skydome Palace.
  2. Equip a  Talisman Paper ideally with an inner having 14 or more Social skill level.
  3. Camp and enter Heavenstep Peak with the mentioned inner,
  4. Using the Social Minigame, acquire information on He Zudao's personality by talking to other Skydome Palace members.
    • If she's Withdrawn or Greedy:
      • get her Favor to 60 and invite her to your sect.
      • When she arrives, beat her unconscious (without killing her) and take the law manual by force.
      • Alternatively, you can roast her: drop hot materials like  Blazing Feather in her assigned room after trapping her until she falls unconscious, rob her then heal her.
    • otherwise:
      • find out her obsessions by talking to her fellow sect members
      • break her emotional guard and raise her favor to at least 70
      • Gift her the  Talisman Paper
      • She will drop the Law on the ground, pick it up

Others Non-Taiyi Xiandao laws Obtainment[]

  • The Non-Taiyi laws can be obtained from Manifesting Mandate Secrets.
    • You can force these to appear by spamming  Derivative Calculation, or wait for them to appear naturally.
    • To get the Law, either meet the Law Matching stats for cultivating it, or take it by force with a Primordial Spirit cultivator.
      • Law Matching may be attempted multiple times before the event expires.
      • "Force" may only be attempted once, and ends the event whether it succeeds or fails.
  • Alternatively, it's possible to acquire all but the Heaven Stealing one through the Kunlun Competition, at the risk of raising Sect Reputation by a lot.
