A Golden Core (Chinese: 金丹, "Jīndān"), also known as the Golden Elixir, is a special condensation of the Three Treasures (Essence, Qi and Spirit) inside a Cultivator that is the essence of their Cultivation. Forming a Golden Core is the most important breakthrough of all, and its quality will determine the maximum potential strength of a Cultivator.

- At Qi Shaping, the Cultivator is barely getting in touch with the Qi in the surroundings. Feeling it out, and understanding its flow.
- At Core Shaping, they are preparing for the all-important step of forming their Golden Core.
- Once formed, it must not be shattered, even at Demigod stage. Otherwise, the cultivator loses everything they've worked towards, and once again become a mere Mortal.
