Functions are measures of how the Character has been affected by various Body Part damages and injuries. For calculation purposes, their base value is usually 1, except Pain whose base value is 0.
There are a total of six Functions for any Character. When the Character receives Injuries to a Body Part, it may affect one of these Functions[1]:
- Pain (

) - Caused by Injuries. Can cause unconsciousness if exceeds 1 - Willpower (
Consciousness
) - Reduced by Injuries to certain Body Parts. Can cause unconsciousness if drops to 0. It also affects these Properties.- Influenced by Pain. If Pain >0.2, Willpower is reduced by (Pain-0.2)[2].
- Meridians (
Meridian
) - Reduced by Injuries to certain Body Parts. Affects cultivation and Max Qi. It also affects these Properties.- Influenced by Willpower, the Function's value is multiplied by Willpower, meaning low Willpower or high Pain damage this Function[2].
- Move (
Movement
) - Reduced by Injuries to certain Body Parts. Affects movement speed and work efficiency. It also affects these Properties.- for Physical Cultivators, this Function's maximum value is 0.5[3].
- Influenced by Willpower, the Function's value is multiplied by Willpower, meaning low Willpower or high Pain damage this Function[2].
- Action (
Operation
) - Reduced by Injuries to certain Body Parts. Affects work efficiency. It also affects these Properties.- Influenced by Willpower, the Function's value is multiplied by Willpower, meaning low Willpower or high Pain damage this Function[2].
- Sense (
Feeling
) - Reduced by Injuries to certain Body Parts. Affects visual distance and work efficiency. It also affects these Properties.- Influenced by Willpower, the Function's value is multiplied by Willpower, meaning low Willpower or high Pain damage this Function[2].
Having one of the Functions influenced by injuries will result in a decrease in the Character's Skill Level and Properties affected by that Function and therefore their ability to perform tasks would be impaired.
