Elemental Resistances measure the Character's ability to resist incoming elemental damage. The greater the Elemental Resistance, the less damage is taken from attacks of that Element.

Any Character or Boss Monsters with 100% or greater elemental damage resistance no longer take damage from that element. If resistance exceeds 100%, any damage from that element instead heals the target by (resistance-100)% of the damage taken.

Elemental Resistances can be further split into the following individual resistances:

Tribulations[]

Despite the specified element displayed in the window when starting a Tribulation, the actual damage done by Tribulations are of the Chaos Element[1], which are unaffected by the Cultivator's Elemental Resistances[2]. As a result, Elemental Resistances are not considered when defending against a Tribulation. The Element of the Tribulation only affects its power depending on the location.

Incarnated Sentient Spirit[]

Innate Hostile[]

Innate Hostile reduces the Elemental Resistances of the specified Element, as well as reducing the Law Match of that Element. These can be obtained by having <10% Element devouring on the Sentient Spirit before it is incarnated into a human.

  • -20% Metal = Wood Hostile
  • -20% Water = Fire Hostile
  • -20% Wood = Earth Hostile
  • -20% Fire = Metal Hostile
  • -20% Earth = Water Hostile

Innate Friendly[]

Innate Friendly increases the Elemental Resistances of the specified Element, as well as increasing the Law Match of that Element. These can be obtained by having >75% Earth Element devouring on the Sentient Spirit before it is incarnated into a human. Since the sum of the Five Elements cannot exceed 100%, only one Innate Friendly tag may exist per Character.

  • +10% Wood = Metal Friendly
  • +10% Fire = Water Friendly
  • +10% Earth = Wood Friendly
  • +10% Metal = Fire Friendly
  • +10% Water = Earth Friendly

Body Cultivator[]

  • Various Secret Bodies can provide elemental resistances
  • Certain Elemental Essences can produce tags during remolding which provide elemental resistances
